Event: We Celebrate Halloween at The Artists’ Gallery!
On October 2nd , 4:30-7:30pm, First Friday Guests will join in the spooky fun participating in a costume contest and making their own scary Halloween masks! We’d like everyone to be in costume—artists and guests alike. If you don’t want to come in costume, you can design your own original mask….all supplies provided. Gallery Artists will display some of their own original haunting artwork. Special Halloween treats provided too!
November Featured Artists
Each month artists’ work is celebrated as Featured Artists for a month in a special display near the front of the Gallery. Their artistic works are featured during First Friday celebration, October 2nd, at the
Gallery from 4:30 to 7:30 pm.
Sofia Balas
Sofia is a talented artist who works in multiple media, including acrylic, charcoal, ink, and oil. She constantly explores different ways to express and portray imaginative styles. In her words, “I seek to infuse a deep sense of feeling into my paintings”. She draws inspiration from her world and the colors inherent in nature in her many subjects…birds, trees, still life, and landscapes.
Diane Dowd
Diane’s move to Cotopaxi and country living stimulated her creation of the Sagebrush Botanicals business. She has developed a wide range of products, including pain creams, healing salves, balms, inhalers, facial care, foaming hand washes, bug sprays, and even dog paw waxes. She believes that, “quality should never be a compromise”, and thus uses a variety of highest quality oils and beeswax.
Frank Ventura
Frank has been a Gallery member for several years. His favorite medium is watercolor, which “offers unlimited colors to express certain moods, atmospheres, and depth of the subject matter. He has a unique Impressionistic style in painting landscapes, birds, animals, and flowers. Also, Frank has incorporated a metallic medium (Pearlescent), resulting in a dramatic expressions of his creative artistic style.
