Event: We Celebrate Halloween at The Artists’ Gallery!

On October 2nd , 4:30-7:30pm, First Friday Guests will join in the spooky fun participating in a costume contest and making their own scary Halloween masks! We’d like everyone to be in costume—artists and guests alike. If you don’t want to come in costume, you can design your own original mask….all supplies provided. Gallery Artists will display some of their own original haunting artwork. Special Halloween treats provided too!

October Featured Artists

Each month artists’ work is celebrated as Featured Artists for a month in a special display near the front of the Gallery. Their artistic works are featured during First Friday celebration, October 2nd, at the

Gallery from 4:30 to 7:30 pm.

Virginia Ames

Virginia, a long-time member of the Gallery, is a bead artist who creates intricate, one-of-a-kind beaded jewelry, including necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and brooches. She uses tiny crystal beads to surround natural stones and faces of ladies and animals. Virginia has shown her creations at many area galleries and has received multiple awards for her jewelry. She says, “you might say my life is surrounded in beads!”

Julie Kay Midyett

Julie, a new member of the Gallery, is a versatile artist in several media…oil, acrylic, and colored pencil. She paints realistic, colorful images of flowers, plants, landscapes, and still life. She has studied with several esteemed artists. In her words, “I am dedicated to expand my artistic capabilities, and I value every stage of my creative growth”. Julie is a member of several art societies.

Tim Penland

Tim, now a Canon City resident, has been an artist for over 50 years. Currently, his fantastic art graphite drawings include Native Americans, Western Art, Rock Guitar players, and Wildlife. Tim, a lifelong model railroader, features unique Railroad Art. He also works in acrylic and oil media. He is the president of the Cripple Creek Art Alliance.
