Tammy VanUlzen

A self-taught artist, my work is an exploration of life itself.

Visual stories, my paintings are created layer by layer, from color, texture, and the fragments of a life fully lived. Sometimes my art is an exploration of emotion through color; other times, a fusion of collage, abstract marks, and pigment—layers that come together to form something both personal and universal.

I do not always paint what is recognizable but rather what is felt— my art doesn’t offer a single “right” meaning—it creates space for discovery, inviting new meaning with each encounter.

A conversation—my process is a dance between the seen and unseen, the conscious and the subconscious. It is both an act of self-healing and a rebellion against the stories we’ve been told about who we are supposed to be. I don’t create to tell you what to see—I create to help you see more deeply.
