ART JOURNALING: A CREATIVE WAY TO NOURISH THE SOUL
Take 5 art journaling classes with me and get your 6th class free!
BEGINNING ART JOURNALING
Saturday, October 10, 2026 | 10:30 AM – 3:30 PM
Have you ever wanted to try art journaling but weren't quite sure where to begin?
Join me at The Artists' Gallery for a hands-on creative workshop where we'll make our own one-of-a-kind art journal —and then begin filling it with art.
We'll start with a single 22" x 30" sheet of Fabriano Hot Press 140# watercolor paper. I'll show you how to fold and transform it into a sturdy, expressive journal with plenty of room to fill with your own ideas, images, words, and marks.
Once our journals are made, we'll spend the rest of our time playing and exploring as we create a two-page spread together using magazine images, collage papers, paint, paint pens, and much more.
I'll share examples from my own art journals to give you a sense of the possibilities, but we won't be reproducing my pages. Instead, I'll introduce you to techniques and ways of working that you can make your own.
And this is just the beginning.
I'll be offering additional art journaling workshops in the future, each introducing new techniques and ways to work. You can bring the journal you make in this class back with you and continue filling it, one spread at a time.
But art journaling is about more than learning techniques.
It's a chance to play without worrying about getting it "right." It's a way to quiet the inner critic, listen to your own voice, and give yourself permission to put your thoughts, feelings, dreams, and ideas onto the page.
There is no right way to make an art journal. You don't need to be an artist, and you don't need any previous experience.
You just need a willingness to play and see what happens.
